The Sugar Addiction Cycle

The diagram below is a great portrayal of the impact of sugar on the body. The impact of sugar on your blood sugar and the dopamine level in your brain sets up the craving cycle. The only real solution is to eliminate sugar completely and to eat a diet that balances your blood sugar. The diet that supports an even blood sugar level is one where each snack and meal has some type of protein or fat and one that is high in fibre and healthy meats and vegetables. This slows down the absorption of the sugars in foods like fruit and helps keep the blood sugar from dropping excessively.
