How Do I Get My Child To Eat More Than 5 Foods?

How Do I Get MyChild To Eat More Than 5 Foods?

One of the challenges of parenthood is to get kids to eat a healthy diet. We all know they should eat their veggies, fruits, and healthy meats but getting them to do it can often be the source of conflict at home. While kids do like routine and aren’t big fans of change, we need to support them to eat a variety foods in order to keep them healthy.

When children have an intolerance to a particular food, they begin to gravitate more and more to foods that contain this ingredient. For example, if a child is intolerant to dairy products, their diet slowly begins to contain more milk containing foods such as pizza, macaroni and cheese, nacho chips, and grilled cheese sandwiches. The more they consume these foods, the less willing they are to eat fruits, vegetables, and meats.

Food intolerances impact the cells in the lining of the bowel wall creating inflammation. These inflamed walls then become leaky and allow particles of other foods to be absorbed into the body before they are completely digested. When these particles enter their circulation, the body recognizes them as foreign invaders and mounts an attack against them. In the case of dairy and gluten based foods, these undigested particles of food resemble drugs in the opiate family such as heroin and morphine and are the reason for the increased craving children have for these foods. This bowel inflammation results in a wide range of symptoms from chronic infections, asthma, digestive issues, irritable bladder and bed wetting to learning and behavior challenges.

By using the Evans Food Sensitivity Assessment Tool to identify the trigger food and remove it 100% from the child’s diet, their health and their willingness to eat a wide variety of food increases. Without the removal of this food, children continue to experience symptoms that impact their health and their life and their diet becomes increasingly restricted.
